WIC-SPECIAL SUPPLEMENTAL
NUTRITION PROGRAM

Hours of Operation: M-F 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM - some evening clinics
Handicapped Accessible

For pregnant, breastfeeding, postpartum women, infants and children up to age five.

  • Food Coupons for those who are eligible

Women, Infants, and Children – Coles County

Program Descriptions: Nutrition program for pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants and children up to five years old. Must meet income guidelines and live in Coles County. Persons who do so can receive coupons for foods like infant formula, milk, juice, cheese, eggs, cereal, and peanut butter.

Ages Served: Women with infants or children ages one to five.
Eligibility Requirements: Coles County resident and must meet income guidelines

Family Case Management

Prenatal, infant, and child care education, physical and developmental assessment and screening, assistance with financial aid application, high risk infant follow up and service referral.

Serving: pregnant women and families with children to the age of five years
 Ages Served: Children 0-5 – Women of child bearing years.

Eligibility Requirements:
Coles County resident and income at or below 200% of poverty level.

***All RN’s that do the physical and developmental assessments have completed a Pediatric Health Assessment Course through the Illinois Department of Human Services.


Teen Parent Services

Young parents who receive TANF (cash) from DHS are under age 20 and
have not completed high school or received their GED must participate in TPS.

TPS is also available to any young parent who receives any type of medical assistance
(Kid Care), food stamps, Family Case Management, or WIC services.

The young parent must also be under age 20 and not completed high school or GED.

Available for pregnant and parenting teens 19 years, 9 months, or younger, who receive Kid Care assistance or TANF and do not have a high school diploma or GED.

Services Offered

Assistance with:

  • GED testing fees
  • transportation
  • school supplies
  • child care
  • school registration

Parenting skills education and age appropriate child development education is provided.
